Great Days in Belize

The last week in Belize has been a lot of fun. First of all we hosted the winners of the Scooby Doo competition for 8 Nights. Warner Bros ran a competition on their website for an online Scooby Doo game and the random winners received a free vacation in Belize with us at the Belize Jungle Dome

They spent 8 days exploring the Caves, Tubing, Zip Lining, Climbing Mayan Temples (caracol and xunantunich), relaxing at the Beach, Jungle Horseback Riding and Kayaking. Plus they saw Crocodiles, Howler Monkeys, Spider Monkeys, Parrots, Toucans and more along the way.

One day the group headed off to the Mountain Pine Ridge to visit Caracol, which is close to one of the British Army Training Camps. And while they were there an Army helicopter landed by the temples and out stepped some of the army guys who have stayed with us at the Belize Jungle Dome. Click for more pictures

I also took Lucas on his first Kayaking Trip on the Belize River. 3 hours floating down river, where i got very burnt as i forgot too put suncream on. Lucas loved it as he pretended to be Go Diego Go. If anyone has seen this cartoon on nickjr, i can tell you that Lucas is living the Diego lifestyle out here, spotting monkeys, butterflies, jaguars and living in the Jungle.

We also saw the start of the soon to be famous Ruta Maya Canoe Race from San Ignacio (near the Belize/Guatemala border) to Belize City. A grueling 4 day race with the first night stopping next to the Belize Jungle Dome. Thousands of people descended on our remote part of the world to watch the competitors complete the first part of the race, and see them off in the morning for the next leg.

And of course my new baby, Aidan who is now just under 3 weeks old has all this to look forward too. I am pleased to say he is fit and healthy and him and mum are both doing great.

We breathe a small sigh of relief now as we get ready for the onslaught of the Tourist season. We do not have a day off for nearly 3 months, and possibly longer as we continue to get loads of enquiries for our Adventure Holidays in Belize.
